For many years, the Fraunhofer IPA has been further developing the technologies around the grip-in-the-box. The researchers are particularly interested in solutions for components that are difficult to recognise for the image processing of the robot system. A new demonstrator is therefore implementing the grip-in-the-box application with sheet metal parts. The application was defined with the practical partner in the project, the company Trumpf, which also provides the components. The IPA experts are developing the application together with the company Compaile. The emerging demonstrator is part of the research project "FabOS", whose goal is to create an open, distributed, real-time capable and secure operating system for production. The partners will show the first technologies of the emerging demonstrator from 30 May to 2 June 2022 at the Hannover Messe in Hall 5, Stand F54.
