New rhythm for Automatica

Just one year after returning from its forced break, Automatica - leading trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics - will be held again from June 27 to 30, 2023. The reason for this is the change to a new rhythm. From now on, the international automation industry will always meet in odd-numbered years at the Munich exhibition center, parallel to Laser World of Photonics - the world's leading trade fair and congress for photonics components, systems and applications. Project manager Anja Schneider is optimistic about next summer's event: "Our lives are increasingly determined by global challenges such as supply chain issues or shortages of skilled workers. Robotics and automation as key technologies offer the right solutions for this. Only intelligently automated and digitally networked production can be economical and sustainable. Automatica in Munich will show how this works." Automatica 2023 will focus on three key themes. These include Digital Integration and AI, Sustainable Production and Future of Work. The Digital Integration and AI area will focus on augmented/virtual reality and digital twins, among other things. Sustainable Production is composed of the elements CO2 neutrality, circular economy, changeability of production and AI, green tech. The future of work is closely linked to the concepts of human-machine collaboration, service robotics as well as mobile robotics. Under the motto "ease-of-use", SMEs as well as less automated industries far beyond the manufacturing sector are to be given access to automation and thus support in compensating for the shortage of skilled workers.

Munich_i for the third time as part of Automatica

With two events to date, the high-tech platform Munich_i has become one of the leading formats for robotics and AI. "Together with our partner MIRMI (Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence) of the Technical University of Munich, we are very happy to provide orientation in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics again this year, while at the same time putting these developments into the ethical-social context," explains Anja Schneider. Munich_i consists of the High-Tech Summit on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, the robotics and AI special show AI.Society with its extensive supporting program consisting of politics, business and science, and the hybrid robotics competition called Robothon. In addition, visitors can expect an extensive supporting program on the four days of the trade fair. In addition to proven formats such as the Start-up Arena, the joint stands for industrial image processing or smart maintenance, and the forum stages, automatica 2023 will focus on the following topics: "AMRs in production", service robotics and the promotion of young talent. "The focal points in the supporting program have great potential for dialog and discussion. We expect this to provide particular added value for all participants," Schneider emphasizes. In the TestZone for robot models, the focus this year will be particularly on small and medium-sized companies with a still low degree of automation.
