The new Voltacast 3310 epoxy casting resin system from Axalta's Energy Solutions business unit combines high heat resistance with high thermal conductivity. It was specially developed for the full encapsulation of the winding head or stator of electric motors, for example in industrial or traction drives. The new Voltacast 3300 product range consists of two-component systems - an epoxy resin and a hardener. Curing of the anhydride-free Voltacast 3310/Voltacast H134 system can be performed at room temperature or preferably at temperatures up to 70 °C. The curing of the Voltacast 3310/Voltacast H134 can be performed at room temperature or preferably at temperatures up to 70 °C. The cured material is flame retardant, meets the requirements of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Standard 94, Class V-0 and will soon receive official UL certification. The products offer excellent thermal conductivity from 1.2 W/mK to 1.6 W/mK and ensure easy and safe application, as the viscosity when processed at room temperature is only 2,200 mPa∙s to 2,400 mPa∙s The new materials are versatile and have glass transition temperatures of 24 °C, 60 °C and 95 °C depending on the requirements of the end application and setting of the casting resin system.
