Yaskawa opens new production facility in Slovenia

After a construction period of around two years, the Japanese technology group Yaskawa opened its new robot production facility and a new European robotics development center at its site in Kočevje/Slovenia: Since the end of 2018, Motoman robots have been manufactured there by Yaskawa from purely European sources. The investment volume is around 25 million euros. The new plant complements the existing production facilities in Japan and China and will cover about 80 percent of the European demand for Motoman robots. Initially, robots of the current Motoman GP series with a payload of 7 to 225 kg will be produced at Kočevje. On a total gross area of over 12,000 square meters, the new factory building currently offers capacities for the production of up to 10,000 Motoman robots per year. In addition, up to 150 new jobs are to be created step by step.
