Smart, flexible and skidless: Built and pre-assembled for a new Mercedes-Benz paint shop in Kecskemét, Hungary, Eisenmann presented the latest plant technology in action in Holzgerlingen, Germany, at the beginning of November 2018. The plant manufacturer showed the interlocking individual production steps and technologies with which a flexible skidless painting plant can be put into practice.
The overall concept is based on a modular, skidless conveyor system. The elimination of heavy skids ensures greater flexibility in the paint shop with regard to changing cycle times, throughputs, capacities and vehicle architectures. With the new conveyor system, investment costs can be reduced by 38 percent compared to conventional skid conveyor technology.
