Chemetall has expanded its Aluminium Competence Centre in Hamm, Germany. “Following our acquisition of Chemal’s anodising business in 2015, the extension of the competence centre and our investment in ultra-modern technology further reinforce our global presence in this key market,” says Martin Ings, global segment manager for aluminium finishing. The competence centre will focus on research and development projects and will play a key role in the growth of Chemetall’s global aluminium finishing business. “Aluminium has become one of the most widely used metals worldwide,” says Ings. “In the surface treatment industry we are faced with an increasing demand for aluminium substrates and our organisation is well positioned to meet the needs of the market with our competence centre in Hamm, our technical services and our strong global network.” The Aluminium Competence Center serves not only the architectural and construction industries, but also aerosol and drink can manufacturers. The laboratory equipment in Hamm meets the quality requirements of the aluminium finishing industry, including the GSB International and Qualicoat standards.
