Coatmaster AG, based in Switzerland, has released a fundamental software update for its Advanced Thermal Optics-based handheld device for non-contact coating thickness measurement. According to the vendor, the software update speeds up the measurement process by a factor of three compared to its predecessor, allowing measurements on moving powder-coated parts to be taken almost every second. This significantly reduces the time employees spend taking measurements. At the same time, the repeatability of measurements has been improved once again. When measurements are taken at the same location, the statistical variation is now less than one percent, according to Coatmaster. The supplier also highlights the following new features: Applications that are used particularly frequently can now be made favorites, which simplifies operation of the measuring device. In addition, the order of the applications can be customized via the browser interface. This creates a clear overview of the many applications that have been created. New applications can now be created particularly easily with a quick calibration with no more than three clicks. In addition, a large number of improvements and enhancements have been incorporated into the software to make daily work with the Coatmaster Flex even more pleasant.
