Additive manufacturing has established itself as a serious manufacturing technology in many industries. As a result, the international trade fair Formnext has also developed into a hub for additive manufacturing, industrial 3D printing and intelligent industrial production as well as manufacturing processes and will be presenting a wide range of products and services in Frankfurt (Germany) from November 19 to 22, 2024.
While many exhibitors at the first Formnext 2015 showcased extravagant 3D-printed designs, companies are now concentrating on specific applications in an industrial context. “In the industry as a whole, the focus is shifting more strongly each year to return on investment in addition to overall technological solutions,” explains Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President Formnext at the organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. “Companies want to be addressed as specifically as possible for their mostly consulting-intensive technology without wastage.” This is also becoming more important in additive manufacturing, as the technology is used in a variety of user industries. Today, 3D printers can be found in dental laboratories, on construction sites, in the production hall for machines and aircraft, on oil rigs or floating through space on the ISS.
Users will not only find the right choice of the latest technologies at the trade fair, but also the right know-how via the stage program and seminars. The wide-ranging lecture program provides information on new technologies, applications and developments from the world of industrial 3D printing. “Together with the year-round content offerings, this also allows us to constantly tap into new target groups and contacts, which is ultimately also an important wish of our exhibitors,” says Wenzler.
