BASF Coatings has been chosen as the supplier of paint products to the new Belgee car production plant in Belarus. The factory, which opened on 17 and 18 November 2017 and is located near the city of Minsk, will be producing SUVs for the Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian and Kazakh markets. BASF is the sole supplier of all the coatings, including the e-coat, primer, base coat and clear coat. Belgee is a joint venture founded by Geely, one of the leading Chinese car producers, and the Belarusian automotive manufacturer Belaz. The new plant has a capacity of 60,000 car bodies a year, with the option of expansion in future.
